- News: Linda Zang of the United States will be president of the ground jury at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, the third WEG she will have judged.
- News: German Olympic gold medallist Isabell Werth is back in the saddle after a long baby break, giving birth to her first son Frederik on 30th October 2009. Werth had been walking a few horses the last couple of weeks, but she’s now actively training her top horses again.
- News: Edward Gal of The Netherlands beat out Steffen Peters of the United States as L’Année Hippique Rider of the Year that recognizes notable achievements and also rewards consistency through the season.
- News: Olympic Grand Prix horse Hiscox Askari passed away on Thursday December 9, 2009. The 22-year old bay gelding suffered from a severe colic attack and even though he was operated on he could not be saved.
