Jack Roddy and Monty Roberts competed against each other in Horse Shows going back 70 years. Both attended Cal Poly University in California where Monty was the NIRA Champion Team Roper and Steer Wrestler in 1956 and 1957 and Jack won the All Around NIRA Cowboy in 1959, and was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1979.
