The Score: Clay Tryan’s Career Evolution

by | Sep 16, 2021 | The Score

Clay Tryan might not have had a record-smashing season in 2021 just yet, but at 42, he’s the most veteran team roper qualifying for this year’s Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

Currently with$78,519.93in earnings on the year, Tryan sits sixth in the world heading for Jake Long. The three-time World Champion from Billings, Montana, is on the cusp of his 19th NFR qualification, and over his two decades at the top of the ProRodeo pack has had to evolve his roping and his horsepower to fit the ever-changing pace of the game. In this episode of The Score, Tryan analyzes his roping in 2021 and compares himself to the young talents he’s competing with today.
