Maryland 5 Star Rider Interviews

by | Dec 4, 2021 | Practical Horseman Podcast

On this week’s episode we hear from riders who competed at the inaugural Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill. Only the second five-star in the United States, top-level eventers from around the world flocked to Elkton, Maryland, in October to try their hand at the brand new three-day event. Practical Horseman’s Julia Murphy and Sandy Oliynyk were at the event and talked to several of the five-star competitors after each phase of competition. Riders shared their opinions on the challenge of the day as well as how their horses performed.

Along with their thoughts on dressage, eventing and show jumping, riders also gave their impressions on the state-of-the-art facility, Ian Stark’s daunting cross-country course, the feeling of the atmosphere at the Maryland 5 Star, and more.
