Today we again hear from Michael Bragdell, 2021 Dressage at Devon winner and head trainer at Hilltop Farm. One of the more unique skills that Michael teaches his horses is “parking” at the mounting block. He feels that a horse standing still while being mounted is extremely important. He demonstrates how he teaches this particular task, including standing on the horse’s left side and asking the horse to move towards him with the whip on the right side.
