by | May 24, 2022 | Dressage Today Podcast

Welcome to the Dressage Today podcast sponsored by Purina. In this episode, Aviva gives her “March to the Maccabi” update, including the winner of the boot raffle! (Hint…it was someone from this podcast.) Stephanie and Aviva also talk about US Equestrian’s color rule changes for dressage. For more details on that topic, read the USDF’sA Visual Guide to 2022 Dressage Attirefound here:https://bit.ly/3z9Hwpd.

The feature interview is with Lisa Roskens, the founder of the Omaha Equestrian Foundation. She talked with Stephanie during the International Omaha show jumping and vaulting event about next year’s FEI World CupTM, which will be making its return to Omaha, Nebraska April 4 – 8, 2023.

Born and raised in Omaha, Lisa Roskens began riding at age five when her parents bought her a pony named Taffy. As she grew up, she rode Western and then switched to English, focusing on Equitation. After graduating law school from Stanford University, she gave up riding for a time, but like many horse girls, she couldn’t stay away forever. She now rides both dressage and jumpers. She is the CEO of Burlington Capital, an alternative investment manager focused on real estate, international agribusiness and private equity. She is also the founder of the Omaha Equestrian Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit organization created to produce international caliber equestrian events that will develop Omaha into a hub of the sport horse industry, attracting international championships as both educational and economic development opportunities for the community. She was instrumental in bringing the FEI World CupTMto Omaha the first time in 2017.
